A Radiation Therapy CT-simulator System for Landspitali University/Hospital of Iceland

In preparation is an Invitation to tender for a CT-simulator system for cancer radiation therapy in Landspitali University Hospital in Reykjavik Iceland.

The Department of Radiation Therapy at Landspitali is the only radiation therapy department in Iceland, serving the Icelandic population of 340 thousand people. Two linear accelerators (Varian TrueBeam) are in use at the Department of Radiation Therapy and also a HDR-AfterLoading system (Elekta/Nucletron) for brachytherapy.  The intention is to replace an Acuity simulator (Varian) with a CT-simulator with important options for radiation therapy (such as 4DCT, C-rad Sentinell motion management and artifact reduction options).

The State Trading Centre of Iceland (Ríkiskaup) will announce and administer the process of purchase.

Companies that produce and deliver such systems are with this announcement invited to present their technical specifications and state of the art of the CT-simulator systems that are of interest for preparing this investment.

Those interested should before 20th of February 2018 send an application for participation in an introductory meeting to the e-mail verdfyrirspurnir@landspitali.is marked: “CT-simulator for Landspitali – application for introduction meeting”.

Each company accepted will have approximately 1,5 hours for introduction and discussion. The introduction meeting should be scheduled in weeks 8 and 9 in February/March 2018 according to further agreements.

The purpose of this introductory meeting is to have information on the state of the art of the CT-simulator systems available.
